The Wedding

Bethlehem Chapel

The Washington National Cathedral

3109 Wisconsin Ave, NW
Washington, DC 20016-5015

The Cathedral, situated on the highest point in Washington D.C. is one of D.C.'s most recognizable skyline sights.  It is a house of prayer for all people in the Nation's Capital.  Trish attended the National Cathedral School for Girls, which is attached to the Cathedral, and so we are privileged to be able to use Bethlehem Chapel for our wedding service.

Our wedding will be held in Bethlehem Chapel and will commence at 4:00pm sharp.
Bethlehem Chapel

Bethlehem Chapel

The Cathedral’s foundation stone was placed on this site under what later became the altar of Bethlehem Chapel. This chapel contains symbols and depictions of the genealogy and birth of Jesus. In 1912 this became the first part of the Cathedral to be completed, and a service has been held here every day since.

Can We Bring Our Children?

Yes but: We love our family and friends, including the little ones, and we have some of our younger family members in the wedding.  We think, however, that young children (under age 8) will most likely find the wedding ceremony and reception tedious and not particularly child-friendly.  We are therefore asking those of you who are local with young children to find childcare at home or, if this is impossible, to let us know, and we will see what we can do to help. We know you understand that weddings and receptions are generally adult occasions and hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy an adult evening out.

What Should We Wear?

Dress code:  Church appropriate festive attire.  The bridal party will be in black tie. We do not expect you to do the same. We suggest jackets and ties for the gents, and dress pants or nice dresses/skirts for the ladies, but at the end of the day we trust your best judgment.
